The Constitution of Somaliland: The Problem of Constitutional Generations and Clan Dissolution

 

A thorough report about the Constitution of Somaliland was recently released by Professor Mario Aguillar of the University of St Andrews.

The University of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland is founded in the year 1413, it is the 3rd oldest university in the English speaking world (after Oxford and Cambridge) and is ranked as the 3rd best university in the UK.

On February 26 and 27/ 2015, the Somaliland Ambassador to UK Mr Ali A Awale visited this distinguished university after receiving  official invitation from its management and made a colourful presentation in the university's main lecture Hall.

SOMALILAND FOOTBALL TEAM MAKES HISTORY AT THE African Cup of Nations UK 2015

The Somaliland football team has for the first time, participated in the African Cup of Nations UK 2015. This was a great opportunity for the Somaliland UK Community and their football team to showcase their nation’s aspirations to become full member of the African organisations and their demand for the recognition of their country as independent nation.

 

20 African countries have qualified for the finals at West Ham Memorial Ground in London and Somaliland was in Group B with Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda and Brundi. Somaliland has topped this group with 9 points from 3 wins and one loss. Brundi came second with 8 points from 2 wins and 2 draws.

UKIP supports Somaliland national day

UKIP supports Somaliland national day

UKIP Commonwealth Spokesman James Carver MEP has sent a message of support to Somaliland to mark their national day today, the 18th May.

 

He said, "I whole-heartedly support their cause for recognition. On Somaliland national day, what better message of hope can I offer other than my best wishes for the international recognition of Somaliland. Later today I will be speaking to senior members of Somaliland's government to personally pass on my best wishes and my support."

Also, Nigel Farage, the UKIP leader, joined Ali Aden Awale, Head of the Somaliland UK Mission today on the occasion of Somaliland's national day.
