Somaliland President Ahmed M Mohamoud initiates development projects in Togdheer Region

HE President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud (Silanyo) today in a ground breaking ceremony laid the foundation stone for the construction of the extension of a 1KM to the existing 2KM runway at the Burco airport in Togdheer region. President Silanyo after the ground ceremony attended the graduation ceremony where he was the guest of honor held for more than 150 students at Golis University Burco.

The head of state later in the day attended laid the foundation stone during a ground breaking ceremony for a new road which will link Burco and the Erigavo in the town Ina –Afmadoobe.

The lack of proper roads and the underdeveloped in the transport infrastructure has rendered travel by road  almost impossible and it takes at least 12-14 hours a negative impact on development and business and in an area which has the potential of been the breadbasket of Somaliland.
